It’s my turn to recreate Mimi, my fellow distance-doodler Carolina’s original cartoon character. 🙂 Haha, I think I unconsciously made the head bigger just like my character K’s. (Sorry, Caro!)
Unlike my dear friend, I’m still not used to watercolor. Haha. And I haven’t really invested in a good set. The ones I have are 8-color Prang sets from several watercolor and calligraphy workshops I attended, with one set from my good friend Lorra. 🙂 I used Prang to color Mimi in the pic above and a Simbalion tech pen for the outline.
Just for a change, I bought this Reeves watercolor set from the bookstore a couple of days ago to use for coloring but I haven’t really used it for painting, only as ink for my calligraphy practice. I’ll do a review of this product as soon as I can. A friend told me though that Prang is way better than this. We’ll see. 🙂
A realization from this activity? PRACTICE makes PROGRESS. I need lots of that with watercolor and other traditional materials. Need some time off from the usual digital drawings. 🙂
