My right hand has been experiencing fatigue the past few days. I get that involuntary twitching when I’m not doing anything. This was probably triggered by my sudden return to practicing calligraphy last weekend. 🙁 That, or I probably have arthritis! Haha, how sad. Anyway, since I can’t draw for now as I need to rest my hand (Wish I could be ambidextrous in a flash!), I’m sharing with you some throwback posts featuring my forever craving — brazo de mercedes (translation: Mercedes’ arm)!
Our love for brazo de mercedes here in the Philippines comes from our Spanish influence. This rolled cake is made out of a meringue outer layer (made out of egg whites) with creamy yema filling (egg yolk + milk mixture).
Check out my very first post for Slice of K back in 2011 using MICROSOFT PAINT (yay! haha) and other random proofs of my obsession with the dessert. 🙂
Sadly, I couldn’t find a copy of my own version of brazo de mercedes cupcakes I baked in 2012 for Slice of K’s first anniversary. 😉
